Notes Mahremî's Persian work in the letâyif-nâme genre. Mahremî prepared this work by collecting jokes told in the assemblies of the Persian sultans and narrated by Sa'dî-i Şîrâzî and some Persian wits. There are a total of 50 jokes in this work, written in a mixed prose-verse style. Mahremî, about whom there is little information, mentioned the number of jokes, his name, his pseudonym and his father's name in this work. In this work, which contains 56 couplets and 6 lines, the latifs are Sa'dî-i Şîrâzî, Humâm-i Tebrîzî, Şeyh Necm, Sultan Yakub Mîrzâ, Hâce Lütfullâh-i Nîşâbûrî, Fettâhî-i Nîşâbûrî, Mîrzâ. Baysungûr, Mevlânâ Câmî, Sultan Hüseyin Baykarâ, Kalâvî Bîg, Hasan Alî Mîrzâ, Mevlânâ Sevdâî, Sultan Bâbür Mîrzâ, Kadı İsa, Mevlânâ Tûsî, Hâce Cihân Mahmûd-i Gâvân, Alî Şîr Nevâî, Hâfız-i Şîrâzî, Şeyh Rûşenî, Şâh Mahmûd Hân, Mîr Şükrüllâh, Ubeyd-i Zâkânî, Sultan Ebû İshâk, Selmân-i Sâvecî, Muhammed Assâr-i Pîrherî, Mevlânâ Tûsî, Mevlânâ Azerî, Sultan Şahruh Mîrzâ, Mevlânâ Kâtibi, Mevlânâ Bedri, Mollâ Şerafüddîn Moşkî-i Hatât, İbrahim-i Deylemî, Sadrî, Hâkânî-i Şirvânî, Mevlânâ Selmân, Dâî-i Müneccim, Ni‘metullâh Velî, Hâce Bushâk-i Et‘ime, Mîr Hüsrev, Âkâ Âvâze Hasan, Hasan-i Dihlevî, Tîmûrlenk, Mollâ Celâl-i Devânî, Mahestî, Sûzenî and Cihân Hâtûn Mahremî decided to prepare this work in a night assembly where the jokes of Ubeyd-i Zâkânî and the entertaining stories in Câmî's Bahâristân were read. Mahremî wrote this work for reasons such as being read in assemblies, being remembered, making hearts happy, and poets and wits of the time not being forced to tell jokes in assemblies. The work was prepared by taking Câmî's Bahâristân as an example. In his work, Mahremî used verses and hadiths to show that latifa is permissible. He expressed the jokes of Muhammad. In the manuscript magazine containing Mahremî's Mecma'ü'l-Letâyif, there is another Mecma'ü'l-Letâyif containing 34 jokes, two of which are in Turkish. It is not clear whether this work, which mostly contains short jokes, belongs to Mahremî. The only known copy of Mecma'ü'l-Letâyif is in the Süleymaniye Library (Esad Efendi, nr. 1755/11, vr.85a-101a). For the poet's biography, see. “Mahremî, Ahmed”.Turkish Literature Names Dictionary.
