Written as one column in 7 lines per page. Naskh script in black ink. Leather binding covered with paper. The work, known by different names such as Lugat-i Firişteoğlu, Lügat-i Firiştezâde, Lügat-i İbn-i Firişte and Ferişteoğlu Lugatı, depending on its author, is one of the oldest Arabic-Turkish dictionaries. In the copy we have, the name of the work is recorded as Lügat-ı Firiştezâde. The author wrote the work for Firişteoğlu Abdurrahman. In a large part of the work, Turkish equivalents of the words in the Holy Quran are given. Izzuddin Abdüllatif b. Cemal Muhtar Firişteoğlu translated the work annotated by Abdülaziz el-Kirmani into Latin letters and published it together with Abdülmecid's Lugat-ı Kânûn-i İlâhî under the name Two Qur'an Dictionaries. The work, which has more than sixty manuscript copies, was printed seven times between 1852 and 1879. The work was prepared as a doctoral thesis by Cemal Muhtar (see References). Additional information: The copy gives the impression that it was copied by more than one copyist. According to the record written later and with a different pen in 44b, the copy was written by Halil b. Halil b. It was copied by Ahmet Efendi. In this recording, Halil b. Halil is mentioned with mercy. The copy must be rejected.
