Notes	ThisQur’anfragment was copied in 12th-century Iran or Iraq and its text includessura15, 44, 16:1-85, which is penned in monumental and geometric-ornamental angular (kufic) script in five lines per page. This is fully vocalised in red and blue with diacritical marks appearing in the form of golden dots. Individual verses are separated by gold rosettes with blue dots containingkuficcounting letters. The circular medallions in the margins contain the verse count written and ornamented in gold, with a blue frame and ray-like extensions.
Sample Text	Purchased from Memel (Vienna) in 1930. — On fol. 1a, the owner's note by Darwish Muhammad Saza'i (or Sazali or Magali?) b. Ahmad Rifaat is visible. A restoration note of the Austrian National Library can be dated to 1931.
Cilt	This black leather flap binding has a differing front and back cover. Both covers contain borders across the edges of the cover as well as a braided band and stylised leafy vine in blind print. However, the front doublures are made of European marbled paper while the back is made of red leather. The binding was probably assembled and restored in Europe in the 20th century from older oriental pieces.
