In the opening words and in the colophon the author states that he composed the work in Makkah in Ramaḍān 949., Collection: Paper ; fol. 194 + i; catchwords; foliation in ink using Hindu-Arabic numerals; modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals., Layout: 25 lines per page., Description: Rubricated ; watermarks(anchor); MS in fair condition, slightly stained with dampness, worm-eaten., Origin: Probably XVIIth century., Incipit: In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds... And then this is a hasty issue that I related to the problem of the Imam’s merits... Al-Tirmidhi, Colophon: His author, may God be pleased with him and have mercy on him, and return to us His blessings, said that the end of it coincided with the eighteenth of Ramadan the Great in the year nine hundred and forty-nine, after Friday afternoon, facing the Kaaba in the Sacred Mosque, and the beginning of it was the third of the aforementioned Ramadan of the aforementioned year. May God seal it with goodness, and may this continue for me until I die in Islam and always win His approval. He is capable of everything and worthy of an answer. Praise be to God alone, and may God’s blessings and peace be upon the one after whom there is no prophet, Muhammad, his family, and his companions, and grant him peace.
