Notes It is an explanation of a long poem, composed by the literary writer, Al-Sayyid Al-Ghali Ibn Al-Makki Ibn Ahmad Ibn Sulaiman, Al-Fasi Al-Dar Al-Andalusi Al-Gharnatian origin, who died in the year 1302 AH, in praise of the Alawite state and praising the honor of its genealogy. The story begins with a mention of the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, and the Rightly Guided Caliphs, then he mentions the Umayyad state, then the Abbasid state, then the Idrisid state, then the Lamtunids, then the Almohads, Then the state of Bani Marin, then Bani Wattas, then the Saadian state, then the Alawite state, and its kings were mentioned in succession until the rule of Sultan Moulay Al-Hassan bin Muhammad bin Abdul Rahman in the year 1290 AH, and he was the tenth sultan that Nazem Al-Qasaida was a contemporary of. The author of the book explains this poem successively until its end, and concludes with a poem he composed in praise of the edifice called Dar es Salaam in Fez, then describes some of the other edifices of Fez. A modern copy is identical in its contents and arrangement to the previous copy (identification number 144613 on the digital portal), but it has 22 more pages in which events were recorded by the copyist after the year 1316 AH, which is the year in which Al-Nazim’s poem stops. This addition continues until the events of the year 1321 AH, and the talk stops at the end of the copy without concluding.
