Notes - It is a book on the history of Arabs and Islam, arranged over the years. It began with the Prophet’s migration, and ended in the year 1210 AH (= 1795 AD). This book is not devoid of illusions in morphology and grammar, and errors in some historical events. The author of “Manhal Al-Awliya” 1: 308 - 30 said: “Among them: my brother Yasin Al-Amri bin Khair Allah. He has literature and knowledge of systems, and has a great hand in quickly organizing dates, and he has access to many benefits of various sciences through reading, studying, and listening... and he has a history from the years of the Hijra to this year of ours, which he collected from multiple histories, such as: Al-Kamil: by Ibn Al-Atheer..., and it has become a comprehensive book that needs to be revised.” And refinement, he has no equal in his art.” - Author Yassin Al-Khatib Al-Omari, Mosul: historian, one of Mosul’s distinguished writers and poets. He used to collect his works from his various studies, present them to princes, scholars, and wealthy people, and win their prizes. His brother Muhammad Amin bin Khairallah Al-Khatib Al-Omari, the famous scholar and author of many books. Yassin wrote a number of books, some of which were printed. He has completed his translation and reports on his books: 1- Saeed Al-Duywaji: In the introduction he wrote to the book “Muniyat al-Adba’ fi Tarikh al-Mosul al-Hadba” (11-28). 2- Dr. Imad Abdel Salam Raouf: In the introduction he wrote to the book “Zabdat Al-Athaar Al-Jaliya fi Al-Adha” (pp. 16-28). See also (Al-A’lam 9: 155), (Dictionary of Authors 13: 117), and the biographies they mentioned that dealt with its translation and effects. - The book of Ibn al-Wardi mentioned in Al-Fatihah refers to the book “Tamil al-Mukhtasar fi Akhbar al-Bishr” by Zain al-Din Omar Ibn al-Wardi (d. 749 AH = 1349 AD). The book “Al-Mukhtasar fi Akhbar Al-Inshār” by Abu Al-Fida’ is summarized and appended to it. (It was printed in Egypt in the year 1285 AH - in two volumes). - The book Al-Gharar mentioned in Al-Fatihah refers to the book “Al-Gharar fi the Biographies of Kings and Their News”: by Abu Mansur Al-Hussein bin Muhammad Al-Mar’ashi (d. 421 AH = 1030 AD). It is four volumes, the first on the history of the Persians to Yazdgerd bin Bahram and the wars between his sons. The second refers to the fall of Yazdgerd bin Shahryar, the prophets, the kings of Yemen, the princes of the Levant, Iraq, and the Romans, and the emergence of Islam. The third and fourth are in the histories of the Umayyad and Abbasid caliphs and the smaller states that branched out from the Abbasid state, such as the Tahirid, Samanid, Hamdanid, Buyid, and Ghaznavid states. See about it (Zaydan: “History of Arabic Language Literature” 2: 366). It was printed. - The book of Al-Himyan mentioned in Al-Fatihah, which is “Nukat Al-Himyan fi Nukat Al-Amyan”: by Saladin Khalil bin Aibak Al-Safadi (d. 764 AH = 1362 AD). It was published in Cairo in 1911. “The author summarized greatly the events of the previous centuries, especially those that constitute what deserves proof. These articles were relatively short, as if they were an introduction to the news of the following centuries, and the last articles of the book are of great importance. The author included many of his personal observations, insights, and direct observations. And in the news that he reported on the history of Mosul and the rest of Iraq during the later centuries, especially in the Ottoman eras: there are historical benefits that we do not find.” Most of them are found in other contemporary sources": (Dr. Imad Abd al-Salam Raouf: In his introduction to the publication of (Zuddat al-Athar al-Jaliya...”, pp. 7-9). - Muhammad Amin Bey bin Ibrahim Bey mentioned in Al-Fatihah is one of the notables of Mosul and its poets. He was suffering from the medical industry, in which he compiled a book called The Speedy Recovery, which he wrote in the year 1207 AH after he was over seventy. He has a collection of poetry. We discussed - briefly - his translation, in footnote (2) to his collection, “The Diwan of Muhammad.” “Amin Bey”: No. (90 / poetry). The name of this family was finally settled on “Al Sharif Bey”. - Sections: the first and this and the second (273 BC, 19 AH), illustrated with fragments of a handwritten copy in the bookcase of the “Al-Khayyat School” in Mosul. He wrote “Al-Khayyat School” in Mosul, in the author’s handwriting.
Sample Text Basmalah... Praise be to God who has planned and ruled, and wrote on the tablet of His knowledge with the hand of a pen, created existing beings, and formed creatures... And after: Then the poor servant says to the kindness of his Lord, the Helper, Yasin Al-Khatib Al-Amri bin Khair Allah Al-Khatib Al-Omari bin Mahmoud Al-Khatib Al-Omari bin Sheikh Musa Al-Khatib Al-Omari Al-Mawsili. I still read books of history, as they are a lesson to the worlds, an excursion to the observers, so I loved to compile an independent book on apparent events and fascinating sites, so I collected this book from many books: from the history of Ibn al-Atheer, Ibn Khallikan, Ibn al-Wardi, al-Gharar, al-Himyan, and what I heard from the sheikhs of the era and time, and what I witnessed with my own eyes, to be an example for those with insight..., and I arranged it in the following order: Twelve articles, each article mentioning the events of a hundred years, and I started from the year of the Hijrah to the year I compiled this book... and I called it Al-Athār Al-Jāliyyā fi Al-Aḥādat Al-Mufti... and when it was compiled... I dedicated it to His Eminence and Eminence... Muhammad Amin Bey Ibn Ibrahim Bey, Ibn Yunus Bey, Ibn Yasin Effendi Al-Mufti, may God prolong his life... “The first article in mentioning the events that occurred in the first hundred years...”
