Notes
It is possible that the copy was in the author's handwriting, with the title contained within the body, and the titles were written in red and some in black, distinguishing themselves by their large size. The author was mentioned by Al-Zirakli in “Al-A’lam” and by Ismail Pasha in “Hidayat Al-Arifeen” under the name: Al-Hussein bin Ghiyath Al-Din, and Al-Zirakli mentions that there is another copy of this book in the Vatican with the name of the author on it: Ikhtiyar bin Ghiyath Al-Din, as mentioned here and also mentioned in “Kashf Al-Zunun”, but as a case in point it was translated twice in the “Dictionary of Authors”, once in 4/40 and once in 2/215, and he mentions it by another name: Ikhtiyar Al-Din bin Ghiyath Religion.
Sample Text
I praise You, O God, and the praises return to You... And then the poor says to God, the Rich, Ikhtiyar bin Ghiyath al-Din al-Husseini: The knowledge of explanatory-statement and creation is the best help in attaining high demands and receiving clear virtues. It brings the servant to the councils of kings and the homes of free people, deserving of spending noble lives therein. Al-Muhaymin, the Most Merciful, said: “He created man and taught him rhetoric.”
