Notes The pages are closed, and there are corrections on some of the margins, and in “Kashf al-Zunun” (2/1932): “When Sultan Selim conquered the Egyptian lands, he found that history (i.e. the bright stars) and approved of it, so he ordered Mawla Shams al-Din Ahmad bin Suleiman bin Kamal Pasha, who died in the year 945, to translate it into Turkish. He was then a judge in the Anatolian military, so he copied a part in each house, and Mawla Hasan, known as Ashjizadeh, whitened it, then showed it to The Sultan was on the way, and he liked it and ordered him to be transported. This is what he did until it was completed.”
