Our sheikh said... Shams al-Din Abu al-Khair Muhammad ibn al-Sheikh al-Muqaddis al-Muqri Zain al-Din Abd al-Rahman ibn Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr al-Sakhawi al-Qahiri al-Shafi’i... Praise be to God, the insightful critic and knowledgeable of what is in the conscience... And after some noble companions asked me... to write something from my ignorant translation and broken news... and I called it “Guiding the seducer, but pleasing the student and the narrator, to inform the media with Al-Sakhawi’s translation.”
