Notes The name of the author in this copy is: Mahmoud bin Zaid al-Hanafi, and the same is mentioned by Brockelmann in Appendix 953/2, although he mentioned the copy of al-Qarawiyyin and the date of its copying in the year 762 AH. Muhammad al-Abid al-Fasi, may God have mercy on him and us, mentioned the name of the author and the year of his death correctly, relying on al-Laknawi, Yaqut, and al-Zubaidi, and since the beginning and end of the copy agree with our version, the author is the deceased Lamish. The text was written entirely in black ink, and the copyist used red ink to write the titles, chapters, issues, etc., within double tables. He decorated the beginning and the end of the copy with beautiful patterns colored in different periods. Copied by: Among them is a copy in the Al-Qarubin Treasury in Fez with the number: 633, and this copy of ours was described in the Aligarh Catalog 172/2 descriptive catalog with the number: (35/19). So what is correct?
Sample Text The principles of jurisprudence are based on three books, which are called the Qur’an, the Sunnah, and the consensus of the nation. They are called principles because the answers to the branches can be extracted from each principle separately, and analogy is a branch of these three principles, so it is not called an origin.
