Notes
From the interpretation of Porphyry of Tyre, a section of Plotinus' Enneads. He introduced the doctrine of Neoplatonism to Aristotle, mixed with the teachings of Alexander of Aphrodisia, and left a deeper impact on Islamic philosophy than the impact left by Aristotle’s philosophy itself. It was translated into Arabic by Abd al-Masih bin Abdullah Na’ami [Ibn Na’ami] al-Homsi and reformed by Abu Yusuf Ya’qub bin Ishaq al-Kindi. The first of them died in the year 220 AH/385 AD [835 AH] and the second in 256 AH/870 AD. Wait for the study in which Dr. Abd al-Rahman Badawi presented his book (Plotinus among the Arabs) and published it (Egypt Edition 1955).
