The author is the narrator of the Arabs, and one of the imams of knowledge of language, poetry, and countries. We discussed - briefly - its translation, in footnote (2) to the book “Al-Istiqāq” written by him: No. (2/Language: Philology - Morphology - Grammar - Dictionaries). The card with ID number 217802 on the digital portal. It was stated in it: “The author is the storyteller of the Arabs, one of the imams of knowledge of language, poetry, and countries. I attribute him to his grandfather, Asma’i. There are many stories about him. He was born in Basra, grew up there, then came to Baghdad summoning Al-Rashid. He called him “the devil of poetry.” Al-Akhfash said: We have not seen anyone more knowledgeable about poetry than Al-Asma’i. Al-Shafi’i said about him: No one expressed the words better than Al-Asma’i. Al-Mubarrad said: Al-Asma’i was a master of the language and no one like him is known in it. A large number of narrations. Al-Asma’i used to say: “I memorize ten thousand of his many works, on various topics, in: literature, language, history, genealogies, countries, and so on.” - The author died in Basra. And he was buried in it. There was disagreement in the year of his death. It was said: 210, 215, 216 and 217 AH. - Saleh mentioned in Al-Fatihah is: Saleh Al-Kharsi, one of the sons of the Kings of Khorasan and the people of Balkh. He was called “the owner of the prayer hall” because Al-Mansour had given him a prayer mat that he took from Abdullah bin Ali’s treasures, on the condition that he would carry it on holidays so that he could pray on it. - The prayer hall: Here, it is a small piece, usually not more than two meters in length, and not more than one meter in width, made of cloth, mattresses, or mats, on which one prays, and it is sometimes called a “carpet”; It is the wine that was prostrated over. The worshiper can carry his prayer place with him wherever he wants. The prayer hall also means the place of prayer, and its matter is known and well-known. Basmala..., said Al-Asmai, may God have mercy on him. When Harun al-Rashid, the imam, was active, he would send me messages, and I would talk to him about the hadith of past nations and past centuries. While I was talking to him one night, he said: Listen, where are the kings and the sons of kings? I said: O Commander of the Faithful, they went their way, so he raised his hands to the sky, then said: O Singer of Kings, have mercy on me on the day you catch me. Then he called Salih, the owner of his prayer place, and said: Go to the owner of the House of Wisdom, and tell him to bring you the history of the kings, and bring him to me.
