The author is a trustworthy and good Hafiz (this is what Ibn Asakir said in “Tariq al-Hadith Arba’in al-Salafi” (54/1). As for al-Dhahabi, he mentioned him in “Tadhkirat al-Huffaz” but did not describe him as a “hafiz.” Rather, he said, “The master hadith narrator... and he composed a thousand and plurals, and it is possible that he could be described as a hadith by memorizer in his time, even if he was present in our time for a number of hafiz.” Then I saw him describe him in “Siyar al-Nubala’” (18/248) as “a hafiz,” and Ibn Ibn al-Khattab followed him. Al-Imad in “Al-Shadharat” [3/325]), he was born in the year 389. This is part of Al-Amali.
