Notes
Manuscript written by the author; The beginning of the poem is a Lamaiya poem whose beginning is: For your life, I have places above the fish *** You have risen and evacuated from my long hand (?) in contrast to the famous Lamaiya Al-Ma’arri, whose beginning is: Except for the sake of glory, what am I doing *** Chastity, courage, firmness, and nobleness, and the end of it is loyalty. Its beginning is: Arise and walk to the garden and drink from the cups of my palms *** For wine is my palm and kissing the palm is my palm. The phrases at the beginning of the poems are written in red.
Sample Text
Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, who created man and taught him speech... And then I have compiled for myself, from myself, a nice book, and a beautiful collection, and I have collected my sayings with it, which I have worked very hard to acquire, and I have reached the utmost end from it.
