Digitization carried out from an original document: Ethiopien d'Abbadie 265. Digitization carried out from a substitution document: R 25678. Note: certain folios may appear twice when their content falls into several categories (when the top and bottom of a page deal with different subjects, for example). Part of the geographical information or information concerning peoples (names of places but also descriptions of places and "oral information on unknown countries") which appears in this notebook was published in the Bulletin of the Geographical Society (1839-1840-1841-1842-1843, digitized on Gallica) sometimes in much more detail (cf. Letters from Antoine d'Abbadie to M. Jomard as well as the f.1r of notebook 266 in which Antoine d'Abbadie returns to this subject). They were then included in the Geography of Ethiopia (1890). This notebook is complementary to notebooks 266 and 267. It is organized in a similar way and we find the same entries there.
