Mulūk Šāh Badā’ūnī known as Qādir (d. 1004H./1596) (comp. Persian Suppl. 188, 247, etc.), and composed from 992H.(/1584) at the request of Akbar]. According to the colophon of this ms. (f. 325v), the translation would have been made at the request of Miyān Šayh ‛Abd al-Nabī, by Abū l-Fazl b. Mubārak ‛Allāmī (comp. to Persian 11, etc.), but nothing indicates this in the text itself. Copies of other versions at the BnF: Suppl. Persian 18(I) and 19. Bibl. :Munzavī, V, p. 3717; A. Munzavī, Fihrist-i muštarak (…) Pākistān, IV, Islamabad, 1984, no. 3906, p. 2155, and VI, 1987, p. 1404. Copy completed (f. 325v) on Thursday 7 Zū l-Qa‛da 1062H. in Ğalīsar, in the sircar of Akbar-ābād [= Jalisar, to the NE. of Agra], by Rukn al-Dīn Kūpāmūvī; in another hand than the rest of the ms., f. 10 seems redone to fill a gap in the text, as do probably f. 2 to 9. In f. 325v, we can read a notice according to which this ms., comprising 325 leaves, was seen on 29 Zū l-Ḥiğğa 1131H., eve of 1st Muḥarram 1132H.(/1720); the sequel was overloaded. In f. 58 and 59 is the stamp of Kišan Singh Muḥammad Šāhī, with the date of the 4th year of his ğulūs (/1722). Ms. acquired in India before 1776 by J.-B. Gentil and deposited by him in 1778 in the Cabinet of Manuscripts of the B.R.; in f. 1 shows a notice in Gentil’s handwriting, with the mention of a price, “8 rupees”.
