The husband, another Quranic heir, inherits one-half inthe absence of a child or agnatic grandchild and one-quarter in the presence of a child or agnatic grandchild."And for them one-fourth of what you leave behind if you did not have a child, but if you have a child then for them one-eighth of what you leave behind;..." [Quran 4:12]This statement gives us the ruling on the share of the wife (widow). The share of the wife is one-quarter in the absence of a child or agnatic grandchild and one-eighth in the presence of a child or agnatic grandchild. Two or more wives share equallyin this prescribed share. Opet u skladu sa islamskim pravom reč valad ovde se tumači kao dete ili unuk sa očeve strane. Muž, još jedan kuranski naslednik, nasleđuje jednu polovinu u odsustvu deteta ili unuka sa očeve strane i jednu četvrtinu ako ima deteta ili unuka sa očeve strane. "A za njih je jedna četvrtina onoga što ostavljaš za sobom ako nisi imao dete, ali ako imaš dete, onda je za njim jedna osmina onoga što ostavljaš za sobom..." (Kuran 4:12) Takav stav nam daje pravilo dela žene (udovice). Deo žene jeste jedna četvrtina ako nema deteta ili unuka sa očeve strane a jedna osmina ako ima deteta ili unuka sa očeve strane.
