Notes
without boards — The writing is small but sufficiently clear. The Balinese scribe of the manuscript
made several mistakes which he corrected afterwards. — palm leaf — a version of the legendary history of Rāma’s ancestors, composed by Mpu Monaguṇa at
the Court of King Warṣa Jaya of Kaḍiri, who reigned in the beginning of the 12th Century
A.D. Dr Juynboll made a collation of the poem with Kālidāsa’s Raghu Wangśa. See Zoetmulder,
“Kalangwan” 1974, p. 298 ff. The 3 palmleaves contain only a description of nature such as is found often in Old Javanese poetry. I t is difficult to locate in the Sumanasāntaka poem.
