Notes	A small treatise consisting of only half a page, written during the Ottoman Empire (17th century). The treatise, which is recorded as an independent work in library catalogues, was written by Ömer Fânî Efendi. Its full name is Ta'lika alâ tefsîri kavlihi't-Taâlâ felâ yekün fî sadrike harac. As its name suggests, it is a note on the interpretation of the 2nd verse of the Surah A'raf. This copy, found in a magazine at Süleymaniye Library, Serez, no: 3880, is on page 44b of the magazine. This note written in ta'lik script, 13 st, 140x90, 95 x 60 mm. size. The work is written in black ink, and the title and headings are indicated in red ink. The writings are in the form of italic lines from right to left (see Fânî Yzm.3880: vr. 44b). Although it is stated in the library catalog that the language is Ottoman, this information is incorrect and the language of the work is Arabic (İdiz 2011: 137). In the note at the beginning of the work: عن سواداته الجميلة "It is one of the beautiful notes among Sheikh Ömer Efendi el-Üskübî's ta'liqs" (Fânî Yzm.3880: vr. 44b), it is understood that the text was written by Ömer Fâni in ta'liq calligraphy. The date the work was written is unknown. However, it can be thought that Fânî Efendi wrote this ta'lik as a note to use in his sermons. In his work titled Beyânü Akvâli Tefsîri'l-Kådî, he stated that while he was preaching in the Hagia Sophia Mosque during the reign of Ahmed I, he researched the commentaries of great people in order to benefit from the sermons and took notes of some issues that caught his attention (Fânî Yzm. 1965:vr. 2b).
