There are four horsemen with three servants and the match is taking place on a rocky place. Three of the horsemen wear the Safavid headdress called a taj. There is a pair of polo goal posts upper right of centre. Behind a second line of hills are two drummers and a man playing a wind instrument. There is a pink and blue cloudy sky. Above this scene are two lines of text painted in black within a white cartouche; the cartouches are on a yellow ground bordered by a band of blue and white chevrons. Over this is a blue band with a yellow meander with triangular shapes in red and white [band a]. On the other three sides is a narrow white band with a simple ogival chain of flower heads in red and black [band b]. Beyond these is a wide band with large inwards pointing leaf forms alternating with two separate leaf forms on a red feathered ground. The leaf forms contain a leafy floral spray in blue with some red on a yellow ground. Edged with a repeat of band [a]. Across the top end the leaves point outwards and this band rests on a wider white ground floral meander. The uppermost band consists of a number of isolated floral sprays in blue and red.
