Notes Part of a wooden frieze engraved with letters in large Kufic script. It was believed when the museum acquired this piece that it was from Tulunid Egypt, and that the inscription was: “Blessing, right, happiness, and bliss for its owner.” However, upon closer examination, it turned out that the existing letters did not match this reading, and although the letters had not been read yet, it seemed that they were part of Qur’anic writing.
