Notes	Short copy of a manuscript, contents: Dictionary of the ancient Persian language with Persian explanation, by Ǧamāl-ad-Dīn Ḥusain Inǧū with the nickname ʿAżud ad-Dawla. The author began this dictionary under Sulṭān Akbar and completed it under Ǧahāngīr (r. 1014-1037 [h.q.] [1605-1627]), which is why he gave it the name "Farhang-i Ǧahāngīrī". - It consists of a preface divided into 12 chapters, the actual dictionary which begins on folio 17, and a "ḫātima" folio 453b ff. - The words are ordered by the second letter, then in second order by the first letter, so that the second letter of the words determines the main division "bāb", the first the subdivision "faṣl" of the same. - The first 2 sheets, fol. 8, fol. 297-320 and the last sheet have been completed by a new hand. Contents: The "ḫātima" contains 5 appendices, the text of which is partially illegible due to damage to the handwriting. Each appendix is titled "durr": 1. (kināyāt wa işṭilāḥāt wa istiʿārāt), 2. (luġāt-i murakkaba az pārsī wa arabī), 3. (luġātī ki yakī az ḥurūf-i haštgāna dar ān yāfta šuda ast), 4. (luġāt-i Zand, Pāzand wa Awistā), 5. (luġāt-i ġarība), Defect: According to Fol. 520 there is a small defect, so that the beginning of Appendix IV, which deals with the Zend, Pāzend and Westā words, missing.
