Short shot of a manuscript, content: Persian dictionary with Persian explanation. - The manuscript begins with the praise of God, the praise of the Prophet and that of Šaraf-ad-Dīn Aḥmad Ibn-Yaḥyā Minbarī, all in verse (fol. 1-4). In honor of the latter, the work was given the title "Šaraf-nāma-i Aḥmad Minbarī". - First we talk about the meaning of the letters (fol. 5-11), then the actual dictionary follows. The words are ordered by the first letter and in the second row by the last letter. There are many quotes from Persian poets interspersed. Each letter begins with a longer poem by the author, which rhymes with the letter in question. - At the end of Fol. 454b the numerals Persian and Turkish and a list of meter measures. - At the beginning and at the end there is the incorrect inscription "Farhang-i Surūrī", Literature: In the preface to Surūrī's dictionary, the work is named among the source works used by Surūrī. In Ḥāǧǧī Ḫalfah IV, 41 No. 7557, which briefly mentions the work with the words "Šaraf-nāma fī al-luġat al-Fārsīya li Munīrī", the author's name is given incorrectly, script: Nastaʿlīq, old signature: Quatremère 42, BSB provenance: Étienne Quatremère (1782-1857)
