The Basmala is a chapter on tanween if the imam did not complete the prayer, rather he shortened it and the one behind him completed it, i.e. the follower, and the answer if it is omitted, i.e. it does not harm those behind him. This is the Shafi’i school of thought, because following the imam with them is merely a matter of following. If the imam’s prayer is invalidated, it does not invalidate the prayer of the one being led in prayer for them, or harm those behind him. This is the Hanafi school of thought, because the imam’s prayer... That is, I know that they do not know anything and do not go back and know. A, He knows the thing if it were found.
