Praise be to God, when the earthly jurist, Pasha Al-Asaad, Sidi Idris Al-Sarraj, gave permission to designate the place where the deceased was found. Idris, son of Omar Al-Assawi, Al-Izz, Khadim, whose two witnesses, may God protect them, were accompanied by the sheikhs of Bani Ammar, Adlin, the glorious Pasha, Muhammad bin Saeed Al-Awdi, Aba Ahmed Al-Sahrawi, and the people who looked down to the valley of Beni Salem and the valley of Beni Maraz, and they found some of the notables of Beni Maraz and some of the notables of Karam Bani Salem, so they were asked about the place where the dead man was found. So the Banu Maraz remained silent, and Omar al-Azmani and his cousins went before us, and we and their successors and the notables of Karam Banu Salim, until everyone reached his branch called Ain Ahmam, below the mudshar of the Banu Maraz, at the top of the Great Zamin, which is there. They looked at his rows of stones, and blood came out in three places, two of them mithqalan, and the third was somewhat higher than it. The masters of sight, Mr. Muhammad bin Omar bin Lahsan, and Jed bin al-Hajj, Abdul Qadir al-Raqqas, were of lineage, and they testified together. According to his witnesses, the blood is human blood, not animal blood, and that the land is Bani Maraz. Then the notables of Karam Beni Salem, Moulay Muhammad bin Moulay Ali Al-Wakili, Sidi Abd al-Rahman bin Abd al-Karim al-Nasab, Sidi Muhammad bin Karum al-Kabir, Muhammad al-Nazzal, al-Hajj Ahmad al-Jabali by lineage, and al-Hajj Muhammad bin Ali Aznaq by lineage and Muhammad Ould Muhammad al-Wariyaghli by lineage, testified to his two martyrs that the deceased was found following a bath on the stones. The plaintiff repeated it and carried him with them. His brothers went to the Ain Tawoos division, below Karm Bani Salem, and they washed him and buried him. Then the notables of Bani Maraz Al-Arabi, son of Muhammad bin Abdul Nabi, Al-Hajj Al-Maghrawi, Al-Talib Si Muhammad Ould Al-Ghamari, Hamoush bin Yahya, Al-Ashb Bani Muhammad bin Abdul Karim, Al-Hajj Muhammad bin Ali Idris, son of Al-Safira, and Amroush, were asked about their lineage regarding the place where the dead was found. They replied, “I do not know about him or his death until it is carried out, because they are washing him with the stubbornness of Ain Tawus.” And they saw him at that time, the Almighty, and whoever went with those who had made vows, with the permission of those who mentioned, and he saw and heard from them what was recorded in his record as a witness to him for his questioner, and on the fourteenth of Rabi’ Thani in the year ninety and two hundred thousand. The truth there was corrected by Omar, and Abd Rabbuh Al-Sayyid was authenticated by him, may God grant him success.
