Notes Praise be to God alone. May God’s blessings and peace be upon our master Muhammad, his family and companions, and peace be upon my master, the learned jurist, the scholar, my favorite master, the son of Al-Basha, my master Idris Al-Sarraj. May God help you and protect you, and from the temptation of time, he saved you and made Paradise your home, your abode, and your protection. May the peace and mercy of God be upon you for the goodness of our Lord, the supporter of God. Know, sir, that Mr. Muhammad Al-Sousi, the grocer, is imprisoned at your hands in the prison of the thief at the hands of the thief’s son, and he complained about me to your honor and said: I wasted his money for him. We used to buy and sell shares with him, and now, sir, we love God from you, and as a reward for your kindness, you will be considerate of God in these noble deeds. You will let me go. We will do the accounting with him so that I have a loss of capital from his money. We will give him the guarantor. You are with my life. He himself. And now, sir, I have sent for him again and again, and I do not like him to come to me and be held accountable with me other than imprison me and let me lose myself in hunger and nakedness. Praise be to God. The law does not waste me. May God guide you. Talk to him, we will get out of prison, we will work out the account and the straight path with him until we get him out of the way, and he returned me to prison and I am asking for the truth. Now, sir, I paid him the amount of money from the capital. I paid him ten riyals and a quarter from the oil and paid him fifty-five riyals from the melted ghee. A quarter of a riyal was reduced by Al-Zaytoun, and I paid him two riyals by Al-Fuka, and I paid him three riyals and ten ouqs, all of them money. Al-Amin Abdullah, Al-Amin Al-Zammouri, and Al-Amin Lahsin Hamdoun received thirty riyals from Al-Jamal, and I paid him six riyals by Al-Saboun, and I paid him twenty-nine riyals before. I have a wanted person among the people, and I paid him her reins, and he is holding them with his hands. Now, sir, we ask him to do the accounting with me. Talk to him. We will get out of prison and do the accounting with him. He will come out. I have a waste of capital, we give him the guarantor, a son of a dangerous person, and now, sir, leave me in prison while I am wasting away in hunger and in the cold, and you know my righteousness, and there is no one to search for me. You, by God, and you, may God make you stand up for the rights of the poor, love, and peace on the 1st of Al-Hajjah in the year 1315 A.H. Your lover, Mr. Muhammad Al-Baqal, is lost in prison.
