Notes Praise be to God alone. The question came about an incident, which is that some people were in Tangier and the month of Ramadan was confirmed, then by sighting he fasted with the people of Tangier, then he traveled to Tunisia or to Egypt and saw the crescent of Shawwal on the twenty-eighth, and its sighting was confirmed by two witnesses. Should he break his fast on the twenty-ninth in accordance with seeing it in the place he is in, or should he fast it in accordance with the sighting of its beginning? The answer is that he is absolutely obligated to break the fast on it because it is a day of Eid and his fasting is forbidden. Yes, and he must make up a day from the beginning to discover the error in it, since the month is no. It will be from twenty-eight days, just as it is not from thirty-one days, but rather from twenty-nine or thirty days, and God knows best. What the Lord said, may God protect him, from the second part of the new standard, on the fatwas of later scholars of Morocco   by Sharif Al-Wazzani, may God have mercy on him        The calamities of fasting
