Notes
Praise be to God alone and prayers and peace be upon our Master Muhammad and his family Tangiers on the 8th of Dhu al-Hijjah in the year 1328 My brother and dear one, the honorable minister, the secretary of trust of our master, Mr. Al-Tayeb Al-Muqri, may God protect you and peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you for the goodness of our master and master, may God support him. There is nothing to add to what I presented to your brothers except to ask about you and your health, which is the ultimate goal and the attainment of what we seek from the Lord of servants. We ask him. Glory be to Him, may God Almighty preserve you for us and protect you, Amen. By God, my brother, the lawsuits almost took my life. Curse the oppressors who oppress the Noble Storehouse and attack its rights. You only see in their mouths millions, and they are aggressing in their requests to their embassies. There is no defender of the Noble Storehouse except God, Glory be to Him, and we have for you with my life, I fight in this until I see it, until they threatened me and complained about me to their embassies, and I wrote all of that to our father, our master. May God protect him. In an empty lawsuit called the Al-Ha'ir lawsuit, the owner asked for three million francs. Millions were abundant here. So I got up and went to this knight. I did nothing but defend with all politeness and respect. They attacked me and complained about me to their embassies. The Spanish arbiter complained, because the suit was Spanish, to his embassy. The English arbitrator complained to his embassy, because he was the third arbitrator. The resurrection occurred and I intended for that, so I went myself and explained the matter to the English ambassador. So he gave me the right and the will, to the effect that they ruled for him in the amount of two hundred francs. Had it not been for what he had done, they would have sentenced him for more than that, in double amounts. This is the evening of today, and I have no pleasant life before the injustice of those lawsuits. Had it not been for my loyalty to our master and our master, I would have preferred this resignation, for it is a heavy burden. Oh God, help us help us in serving our master and our master, Amen, and make him satisfied with us, Amen. The political conditions here have improved greatly, and I swear to God. Praise be to you, all for the health and activity of our father, may God protect him. Everyone here is waiting for his safe and prosperous return. They are spreading rumors about us that the representative will appoint the position of Moulay Muhammad al-Marani and that our father will remain in Tangier to manage all matters. Oh God, make this happen because Tangier today is in the midst of affairs and in the presence of a great man to improve the conditions of the north. The only man who can improve this is our father, may God protect him. O God, bring him back safely and richly, Amen. I remind my brother to send what you asked of him and the matter is up to him. Peace be upon you your brother Al-Majati Ali, may God grant him success
