Sample Text A collection of two manuscripts. 1. al-Yamīnī (folios 1b-99a), also called Kitāb al-Yamīnī and Tārikh al-Yamīnī, a history of the the Ghaznavid ruler Yamīn al-Dawlah Maḥmūd ibn Subaktakīn, 971-1030 (hence, the title of the work) and his father Nāṣir al-Dawlah Sabuktakīn(d. 997) who ruled in parts of Iran, Afghanistan and Punjab by Muḥammad ibn ʻAbd al-Jabbār al-ʻUtbī (d. 1035 or 1036), an administrator at the Ghaznavid court, a historian, poet and belles-lettres writer. Copied by Mūsá ibn Ḥamzah ibn Aḥmad on Monday 24 Rabīʻ al-Awwal, 860 H (1 March, 1456). Place of copying not mentioned. 2. Qavāʻid al-rasāyil wa-farāyid al-faz̤āyil (folios 101b-112b), a persian treatise on the art of letter writing by Ḥasan ibn ʻAbd al-Muʼmin al-Khūʼī al-Muẓaffarī (Ḥusām al-Dīn Khūʼī, Ḥasan ibn ʻAbd al-Muʼmin, active 13th century). This treatise seems also to have been copied by the same scribe around the same date.
