Özet
Eser sarf ilminin önemini anlatan bir girişten sonra yedi bölüm halinde “Aksâm-ı Seb’a”ya göre “Sahîh”den başlayarak fiil-isim kalıplarını ve bunların çekimlerinin nasıl olacağını anlatan bir sarf kitabıdır. Eser Osmanlı medreselerinde ders kitabı olarak okutulan, Sarf Cümlesi olarak tanınan Emsile, Binâ, Maksûd, ve İzzi’yi içerisine alan risaleler grubunun son halkasını oluşturur. Müellif, eserinin adını mukaddimede Merâhu’l-Ervâh olarak zikretmiştir. Sadece el-Merâh adıyla da bilinir.
