Özet
* el-Kâfiye ile birlikte Arap gramerine dair üç temel kitaptan biridir (diğerleri Sîbeveyhi’nin el-Kitâb’ı ve Zemahşerî’nin el-Mufaṣṣal’ıdır). el-Kitâb’ın hulâsasını teşkil eden el-Mufaṣṣal’da yer alan sarfla ilgili konuların bir araya getirilip ayıklama, düzeltme ve özetlemelerle birlikte gerekli ilâvelerin yapılması suretiyle oluşturulmuştur. Hemen bütün sarf konularını kapsayan ilk muhtasar sarf kitabıdır.
