Sample Text Story Point (SP) is one of the most common metrics used in agile methods such as Scrum and Kanban. Although it is a subjective metric, due to its usefulness and simplicity, it is widely used in dividing user stories in the backlogs of agile teams into appropriate sections, estimating costs, and calculating the speed and capacity of teams. Cosmic function score (CFP: Cosmic Function Point) is an objective metric used to measure software functional scope size and is also an ISO standard (ISO 19761). In this study, the experiences of using both Story Score and CFP metrics together while working according to agile software development principles of one of Turkey's largest technology and communication services provider companies were shared; The similarities and differences of the two metrics are examined. As a result, it has been concluded that the SP metric is a more effective tool in dividing user stories into the appropriate scope size with agile logic during scope sizing meetings, and that CFP gives more successful results in measuring the trend over time of the quantity and quality of outputs produced by agile teams and in determining outsourcing entitlements in agile environments. In addition, a preliminary analysis was made for a linear regression model to see whether CFP could be used in Effort estimation and the first results were shared., Story Point (SP) is one of the most common metric in agile frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban. As a result, SP is an effective tool for grooming the user stories whereas CFP provides successful results for measuring output of the squad, quality trend and outsource contracts. Also, a preanalysis for a linear regression model of CFP versus effort estimation is conducted in this paper and the initial results are shared.
