Notlar in a white cotton bag with Balinese and German inscription (Bal.:puniki lontar warigga, Germ.: Mittel-Jav. Wariga) — The Balinese script is written well. — palm leaf — Javano-Balinese notes on divination practised in order to distinguish auspicious and inauspicious days for actions and enterprises. A great number of abbreviations, single characters, of names of days and weeks belonging to the intricate Javano-Balinese chronological system are used. The abbreviations are arranged in tables. Numerical values of the days are deemed very important. The idiom is Javano-Balinese with a few Balinisms. The palmleaves might be written about 1900. The manuscript formerly in the collection of Dr F. Seltmann (Stuttgart, No. B.10.D.), was purchased by SB in 1990. Cf. VOHD XXXI, 278 and § 41.860 (Lit. of Java, I p. 282).
