تمثل محلة (السنك) المثال الحي والشاخص لمحلات بغداد القديمة، والتي تحتفظ بمبان سكنية مختلفة تعود إلى الفترة التاريخية المحصورة بين أواخر الحكم العثماني المتأخر وبداية العهد الملكي في العراق. وقد خصصت هذه الدراسة لتوثيق البيوت التراثية لما تمثله تلك الحقبة الزمنية من مرحلة انتقالية فعلية في جوانب الحياة العامة منها السياسية والاقتصادية والاجتماعية، وبناء على ذلك يمكن استخلاص نتيجة مهمة من إن البيئة والحضارات القديمة والخبرات المحلية، قد لعبت دورا في العمارة العراقية عامة، والبيت خاصة، لهذا بقيت صلة البيت وثيقة بالنمط السائد في العراق منذ القدم والفترات اللاحقة. The locality of (al-Sinak) represents the living and distinctive model of the old Baghdad shops, which preserve various residential building, most of which date back between the late ottoman era and the beginning of the royal era. this study was devoted to documenting the heritage houses because that era represented an actual transitional stage in the aspects of public life, including political, economic and social ones. accordingly, an important conclusion can be drawn from that the environment, ancient civilizations, and local experiences played a role in Iraqi architecture in general, and the house in particular. therefore, the link of the house remained closely with the prevailing pattern in Iraq since antiquity and later periods.
