Treatise on the mathematical sciences (geometry, astronomy, arithmetic and music) excerpted from the works of Abū ʿAlī al-Ḥusayn ibn ʿAbd Allāh (أبو علي الحسين بن عبد الله), known as Ibn Sīnā (ابن سينا, latinised as Avicenna, d. 1037), edited and translated into Persian by his student Abū ʿUbayd ʿAbd al-Wāḥid ibn Muḥammad al-Jūzjānī (أبو عبيد عبد الواحد بن محمد الجوزجاني). The treatise is meant as a supplement to Ibn Sīnā's
Wisdom for ʿAlāʾ
(حكمة علائي), more commonly known by its Persian title
The Book of Wisdom for ʿAlāʾ
(دانشنامه علائى), which presented in Persian his teachings on logic, metaphysics, and physics.
Blank spaces have been left in the text for diagrams that were never added.
