A divan. | Ms. codex., Title from fol. 1b., Copied by Seyit Mehmet Hulusî in 1290 (1873-74) -- colophon (fol. 286a)., 18 lines per page. Written in a medium sized naskh in black ink with use of red for rubrication. Text is written inside a single line frame in red ink. On fol. 1b the frame is further outlined with a thick line of (faded) gold. Same fol. has a simple illuminated head piece (ʻunwān) made with gold leaf and red ink, with the title inside, also in red ink. Catchwords on the verso of each leaf. Dark cream wove paper. Fol. 286b-289b blank., Incipit: بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم از كبريا يعنى تأويله شروع اولدى از سر ابتدا, Explicit: به عارف اولدر اى مثالي بى تعصب كوستره حيدرى احمد له وشير خدادن خاتمى | Brown leather with evidence of envelope flap which is now missing. Gold border design on covers. Small gold motif made with 8 radiating sprigs in the centre of upper and lower covers. Endleaves in glossy green paper embossed in floral pattern. Front flyleaf and fol. 1 loose. | Originally acquired by Robert Garrett from Abraham Shalom Yahuda ; 1942.
