Both covers are similarly blind-tooled with a central mandorla and an outer frame consisting of single fillets surrounding a s-shape running pattern. The envelope flap has a similar outer frame with a circular stamp on its point. \| Two ownership statements on fol. 1a, one signed Muḥammad ibn ʻAlī ibn Marḥwān(?), dated 1 Rabīʻ al-Thānī 1020 [June 13, 1611], the other signed ʻUmar, dated 27 Rabīʻ al-Thānī 1339 [January 8, 1921].
