ملاحظات A collection of about three thousand proverbs, wisdom sayings and traditions. | Ms. codex., Title from title page (fol. 1a)., Marginal notes and glosses., Collation: Paper ; fol. ii + 212 ; catchwords ; modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals., Layout: 23 lines per page ; opening spread frame-ruled in red (fol. 1b-2a)., Description: Rubricated ; overlining in red ; watermarks (unidentified circular mark) ; MS in good condition., Origin: According to colophon copy completed in Ṣafar 1002 Damascus by Ibrāhīm ʻAlī al-Qādirī (fol. 212b)., Incipit: بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم وبه نستعين الحمد لله الذي نور قلوب العارفين فاقتبسوا من لوامع كل.. وكلام ... اما بعد فيقول الفقير الى الله تعالى علي بن حسام الدين الشهير بالمتقى الحنفى ... جمعت فيه نحو ثلاثة ال[اف] حكمة ..., Colophon: وحرره الفقير ابراهيم علي القادري في دمشق المحروسة من شهور سنة اثنين والف في نصف الليل م السبت | Later type II (with flap) binding in brown leather with red leather spine and flap connector. Gold-stamped mandorla with pendants and gold-tooled decorative edging on covers. Similar edging design on flap with a variant gold-painted stamped design. Green leather doublures with gold-stamped designs. Binding appears to be patched together from different sources. | Ownership signature: Aḥmadī al-Nūf..[?] known as Imām ʻUthmān Bāshā dated 1250 with his seal impression (fol. 1a); seal impression at the end of the colophon (fol. 212b).
