ملاحظات Title from the preface; also known as: Kitāb al-Uṣūl, or: Uṣūl al-Shāshī (Brockelmann, I, 174). Compared with the Delhi edition of 1848. Incipit: "Bismillāh al-Raḥmān al-Raḥīm. al-Ḥamdu lillāh alladhī aʻlá manzilat al-muʼminīn bi-karīm khiṭābih, wa-rafaʻa darajat al-ʻālimīn bi-maʻānī Kitābih ..." البداية: "بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم. الحمد لله الذي أعلى منزلة المؤمنين بكريم خطابه، ورفع درجة العالمين بمعاني كتابه ..." Fairly modern (18th century?) naskhī, in red and black. Extensive interlinear and marginal notes. Islamic binding, in yellow. No. 1 of 2 titles bound together. Colophon: "Tammat hādhihi al-kitāb min uṣūl al-fiqh al-musammá bi-Shāshī ..." الخاتمة: "تمت هذه الكتاب من أصول الفقه المسمّى بشاشي ..." Translation of the colophon: "This book on the principles of fiqh (Islamic law), titled Shāshī [al-Shāshī], is completed ..." Text in Arabic; notes in Arabic and Persian.
نص عينة Principles of Hanafi law; the work ends on leaf 63, and is followed by a prayer. Preceded by 1 leaf of notes.
