Ms. codex.Title from illuminated ʻunwān on fol. 2b.Copied by Mehmet ibn Yezid (this being the last book he copied), and completed on the first of Rabīʻ al-Awwal 961 (1554) -- colophon (fol. 285b). The colophon also has a reading statement in the name of Ahmet ibn ... [?] Solak.17 lines per page. Written in a medium small vocalised naskh in black ink with use of red for rubrication. Text is written in two columns inside a double line frame in red ink. On fol. 2b-5a the text frames are in gold leaf outlined in black ink, and on fol. 2b-3a with an additional line in red ink. Fol. 1b has an illumnated head piece (ʻunwān), consisting of a flower pattern in gold ink and red, green and yellow watercolors, with the title in gold ink in the middle and a medallion in blue watercolor above it. Catchwords on the verso of each leaf. Thick glazed cream paper with visible chain lines and watermarks. A couple of inscriptions on fol. 2a.Incipit: آله واحد رب تعالى هو الله البديع الحق الاعلىExplicit: حبيبينه صلاتيله تحيات دخى آلينه كم خير البريات يازنى اوقوينى دكلاينى رحمتكله يزلغاغل يا غنى - Dark burgundy leather over pasteboard with envelope flap. Blind stamped mandorlas with pendants in the centre, and floral corner pieces in the corners of upper and lower covers. Lining to the fore edge flap in purple fabric. Pastedowns in cream paper. - A poem of religious contents, concerning the Islamic tradition in general and that relating to the Prophet in particular. The poem is a re-working in Ottoman verse by the author of the second part of his prose work in Arabic entitled Maghārib al-zamān.
