Ms. codex.Title from the beginning of the text on fol. 2b.Fol. 10a contains an unsigned note about the birth of an owner's son at 6 o'clock on Sunday evening, the 10th of Shawwāl 1226 (the 10th of Shawwāl 1226 fell on Monday, the 28th of October 1811, which means that he is referring to the eve of that date and the date is thus the 27th of October 1811).Layout: 23 lines per page ; frame-ruled in gold leaf outlined with black.Description: Written in small nastaʻlīq in black ink with use of red for rubrication. Catchwords on the verso of each leaf. Glazed European paper.Decoration: Fol. 2b has a small gold leaf headpiece (ʻunwān).Incipit: حمد بيقياس وبيحد وشكر وسپاس لايعد ... بعد هذا بو عبد حقير كثير العصيان محمد اسعدExplicit: وبهذا النمط يعلم المدد خذ هذا التوضيح صريحا وكن به فريحا - Red leather with a gold tooled border design made with a single gold fillet on either side of a gold guilloche. Pastedowns in white paper. - Elegant copy of Esat Efendi's commmentary on the Āyat al-Kursī. The end of the text contains a lengthy and complex chronogram which conceals the date of the composition of this work, and the place is mentioned as "baldah hiyá ṣighat al-maṣdar li-fiʻl al-jihād" [Istanbul?].
