Ms. codex.Title from fol. 1b, erroneously attributed to ʻAbd al-Qādir al-Jīlānī.Physical description: 15 lines per page; written in neat naskh in black on thin glazed, laid European paper, some of which is dyed yellow. Simple illuminated ʻunwān in gold and color on fol. 1b; text framed in gold on fol. 1b-2a and remainder of text framed in red. Rubrication and catchwords. Some creasing and mild staining; in excellent condition.Incipit: حمد بحد وثناء لا يعد اول قادر و قديم وصانع حكيمه كه قلوب اوليا - Full brown leather with flap; gold-stamped central diamond and gold-tooled fillets; gold-sprinkled yellow pastedowns and flyleaves. Flap is detached. - A translation by Hüseyin bin Hasan el-Edirnevî (fol. 2b) of al-Shaṭṭanūfī's biography of ʻAbd al-Qādir al-Jīlānī and thirty-six other shaykhs belonging to his order.
