A wooden applique representing a diety. The deity is mummiform, seated upon a throne with a back. He wears a divine beard, long tripartite wig and holds a staff vertically. The applique is probably from the outer screen of a box coffin.
Condition: Eight holes for attachment. Color remains in several areas (red-orange, light blue, white, black). Wood is stable but cracks in several places; through hands, top of thighs, at knee. Toes and front base of throne gone. Portion at back lower area of throne gone. Reverse is plain. | more | less
