Watermark: three crescents, with the letter V above the second crescent in some cases; for similar watermarks, see Velkov-Andreev, no. 517, dating from 1717; nos. 528 and 537 from 1718; no. 541 from 1719; and nos. 557 and 558 from 1720 (fols. 1-10, 23-28, 24-27)؛ A compilation of 130 Ḥadīths on the subject of marriage. Sayyid (p. 65) identifies Aḥmad b. Muḥammad b. ‘Alī b. Ḥajar al-Haytamī (or al-Haythamī) as the author of a work with the same Incipit. Brockelmann also accepts al-Haythamī as the author, see GAL II 388, no. 1,9. The present copy contains the phrase: Hadhā Kitāb al-Ifṣāḥ ‘an Aḥādīth al-nikāḥ li-’Allamah ‘Abd al-Raḥmān b. Abī Bakr al-Suyūṭī. The first work in this codex (OR. 1797, I), Ḍaw’ al-Ṣabāḥ fī asmā’ al-nikāḥ, is also by al-Suyūṭī. Rubricated frame. European paper. Rubrics in two shades of red. Catchwords. Short marginal notes by the copyist. The codex is wrapped in snuff-coloured buckram. Binding with flap and leather spine. The flyleaves (front, r ; back, v) and the endpapers are painted yellow.
