Malzemeler ve teknikler Brocaded silk velvet with metal thread. Pattern repeat on vertical axis with 2 minimum pattern areas. Satin foundation structure: 4/1 satin, warp count not taken; ivory silk, no twist. Weft: cotton, 1 strand. Satin & velvet warp order 3-1-3. Velvet structure, red and green silk, S twist. Pile counts, warps 10; along weft 13. Binding weft threads: silk, super-skinny white. Brocade structure: wholly brocaded? whole 4/1 twill, count 23. Shots between pile 2. Metal & twist: silver or gilt (?) Z tightness of wrap: Ivory brocade weft is two strand; yellow is one strand. Selvedges here is interrupted; it seems like it floats over a couple of warp threads; selvedges are made of thicker warps. At the selvedge, the brocading wefts don't extend. The silk here looks esp short filament. Is it possible that this is silk on silk, but the main foundation warps are made of wild silk or broken cocoon silk? Silk (Textile) Cotton Weaving
Fiziksel açıklama Red and green cushion cover of brocaded silk velvet with metal thread. The design is made of floral and leaf motifs. In the centre is a large floral motif containing within it several large leaf motifs, each within the other, which contain leaves. The central leaf contains a decorative pattern. At the four corners, there are decorative patterns that contain floral and leaf motifs, much like those found at the centre of the cushion. The green looks bluer on the back, indicating a fading on the front.
