WARP: light brown wool; Z4S; 14 threads per inch (56 per dm). WEFT: light brown wool; Z2S; 2 shoots after each row of knots; 11 knots per inch (40 per dm). PILE: wool; 12 colours: red, light red, yellow, dark green, green, dark blue, blue, pink, dark brown, brown, light brown, white; symmetrical knot tied around two threads; 77 knots per sq. inch (1120 per sq. dm). SIDE FINISH: missing on both sides but there are traces of overcasting in blue wool over at least 3 cords. END FINISH: missing DESIGN: Field: dark brown ground with toothed lattice in yellow outlined in red and containing floral motifs repeated across the field. Main border: white ground with 'crab' pattern in various colours. Inner and outer borders: divided by dark blue diagonal lines. The intervening spaces are filled with blocks of diagonal lines in two contrasting colours. At both ends the outer border is missing. Catalogue Date: 27.5.97
