Pair of silver and coral earrings with linking chains
Malzemeler ve teknikler
Silver wirework, granulation, and knitted chain with coral
Fiziksel açıklama
The pair of silver bell shaped, ( jhumka ) earrings has a linking knitted silver chain in three parts with pendant rhombus-shaped capsules. The earrings are decorated with triangular blocks of flattened granulation on the jhumka with a fringe of open wirework from which hang small coral beads with granulated terminals threaded on wrapped wire and chain links. The jhumkas hang from a hollow arched boxes outlined in granulation and set with a central coral stone with four loops on the lower edge to support the jhumkas , the linking chain and more flanking pendant coral beads on wrapped wire, probably originally paired on each side, but now largely missing.
