Fiziksel açıklama
Fragment of a decorative tapestry woven band in brown dyed wool and undyed linen thread. There are faint traces of the plain woven linen ground into which the tapestry band was woven, at both the top and the bottom of the band. The slit-tapestry woven design shows a central oval medallion enclosing a hare, with three smaller round compartments to each side. The left three enclose a cross, and the right three a plant ornament. Plain weave: Linen warp (S-spun, too little to count thread) Linen weft (S-spun, too little to count thread) Tapestry weave: Linen warp (S-spun) Wool weft (Z-spun) Linen weft (S-spun) 11 ribs per cm
