Fiziksel açıklama
Square panel from a linen cloth, tapestry-woven in dyed wool and undyed linen thread. A roundel in the middle contains a female figure, either a Neireid or Amphitrite, riding on a triton who blows a horn. In each of the spandrels is a four-petalled rosette. Surrounding this central design is a series of four Nereids riding on either hippocamps (the top two) or sea monsters (the bottom two), alternating with four busts in ornamental medallions, possibly stylised wreaths. The panel has an outer border of cresting. The design is mostly in purple wool, with details picked out in flying shuttle technique in undyed linen thread. Certain details are picked out in other coloured wools, such as the horn blown by the triton (red), the surrounding rosettes (red, green and yellow) and details on the clothing of the four busts (orange, green and yellow).
