Notlar A fragment of decorative border from a larger linen cloth (250mmx95mm). The cloth is of undyed linen with double wefts. he edges are in basket weave and turn to plain weave 5mm before the decorative stripe. The stripe is a tapestry weave (slit tapestery) using coloured wools (yellow, green, red, pink, light and dark blue) in plain weave. The desgin is of geometric squares (approx. 13x18mm) that form zig-zags and use the colours to create pyramid shapes along the stripe. Some staining.

Fiziksel açıklama Fragment of a tapestry woven band in red, pink, blue, green and yellow dyed wools, and undyed linen thread, originally from a larger hanging. Areas of the surrounding undyed linen fabric above and below remain; the edges are in basket weave and turn to plain weave 5mm before the decorative stripe. The slit-tapestry woven stripe of decoration consists of three tessellating, polychrome stepped or crenellated triangles, and the remains of a fourth. The first is woven in undyed linen, pink wool and red wool; the second in yellow wool, green wool and blue wool; and the third in yellow wool, green wool and dark blue wool. The remaining parts the fourth triangle are in red wool.
